A must have staple piece is a good black wrap dress! I probably have at least 15 to 20 different black wrap dresses. I know that sounds over the top, but when I find a good one I have to snag it up. I have them in all different lengths and with different sleeve lengths as well for different occasions. I love wrap dresses because they are not only flattering for almost all body types, but they are perfect for any season. I was on the run and threw on this long sleeve black wrap dress, ankle strap sandals, military long coat and my new Gucci soho leather disco bag. The bag pops on this simple wrap dress and gives it the perfect finishing touch.
I got this amazing white faux fur jacket from Missguided for the holidays and I finally got a chance to wear it out last night. I paired my white faux fur jacket with this adorable black mesh v neck dress. This black mesh v neck dress is actually very casual but I dressed it up with my coat and heels for a friend’s birthday dinner. This coat is so soft and surprisingly keeps you super warm. I seriously want to wear it everywhere now!
Besides falling in love with this coat, I’ve been wearing these heels non stop lately because they are beyond comfortable. You all know I love shoes and heels and have a plethora of them, but whenever I find the right pair I wear them non stop. These black ankle strap sandals from Jeffrey Campbell are seriously the best. Between the thick heel and ankle strap, I can wear these all day and night without any discomfort. If you’re looking for a good pair of heels for work or everyday wear, I would highly suggest these.
This No Guts No Glory puffer jacket seems appropriate to start off the New Year! I love this logo jacket from Topshop so much. Not only is it super comfortable and warm, but the logos on the front and back are so fitting. The front says “No Guts No Glory” and the back says “Not Interested.” Going into the New Year, these are two sayings I want to live by. I’ve made a lot of goals going into 2017 and a lot of them will require me to step out of my comfort zone. There are so many unknowns right now in my life, but the uncertainty is kind of exciting. Anyways, back to today’s outfit details. I paired this No Guts No Glory puffer jacket with destroyed boyfriend denim jeans and ankle strap black sandals.
Thank you all so much for all of the sweet birthday messages today! Here’s to turning 28 today!! I’m feeling so thankful and blessed to have so many sweet people in my life, especially all the new friends I’ve made through this blog.
Today’s New Years Eve and birthday outfit is this pink velvet dress. I was in Zara last week when I found this adorable pink velvet dress and was immediately drawn to it. I didn’t have any plans on wearing it today, but this is what I settled on. I love the wrap feel of the front and love the slit as well. I ended up having to tape the slit a little since it’s a little high for me. I wanted to be cute but comfortable for tonight. I always celebrate my birthday with my family and our massive traditional Japanese birthday and new years dinner. My mom cooks all of our favorite Japanese dishes and we eat all night, so comfort is a must! I’ll be honest, after dinner I’m usually in sweats relaxing, but at least I’ll start the night off in this cute pink dress. I paired the dress with my favorite gold pumps and my new favorite initial necklace.
If you’re in a craze to find a last-minute New Years Eve look, I’ve come to help! I normally don’t like rompers because they ride up on me and I’m always adjusting or afraid my bum is exposed. This off the shoulder short sleeve romper party dress is the perfect fix for those who are hesitant about rompers. I’m obsessed with the off the shoulder top half of this romper. The flowy sleeves are to die for and aren’t restricting. The bottom half of the romper fits perfect without riding and if you’re still cautious it comes with this amazing train to prevent anything from being seen. I’ve never felt more comfortable in a romper than I did in this one. This would be the perfect look for a dressy casual New Years Eve outfit. You can dress it up with heels and jewelry for the big night and can also wear it again during the Spring or Summer with sandals for the perfect sunny day look. The other part about this romper that is amazing is that you can now order it on Amazon prim and get it one day delivery!
I’m obsessed with this MakeMeChic casual loose short sleeve split maxi dress! This dress comes in eleven colors and I seriously want it in all eleven. This oversized dress is the perfect go to casual look. It’s light weight, has pockets and side slits. If you’re looking to grab one of these dresses and want it to be oversized, just order your normal size. If you want the dress to be more form-fitting then order a size or two down. I ordered a small and it was still super large so I did end up pinning it in a little bit. Another reason why I love this dress is because although it’s a maxi dress, it doesn’t drag on the floor for me since I’m on the shorter side. You can easily pair it with sandals like I did today, or even with low top sneakers for a athleisure look.
I am a sucker for a good long sleeve denim blouse! I have a ton of chambray tops which are perfect for Spring or Fall, but denim is a must for Winter. Although I’m still wearing dresses, this long sleeve denim blouse was perfect to keep me warm. Because it’s denim it’s a thicker material compared to chambray. The mornings and evenings are super cool but it’s been warming up in the afternoons. I ended up throwing a long overcoat over this look to keep me cool in the morning, but as it warmed up this look transitioned nicely. Long sleeve denim blouses are also very versatile. You can pair them with a dress like I did today, or button it up and pair it with jeans or a skirt.
Merry Christmas! I hope you all have an amazing Christmas! The past couple of days have been a blur so I’ve been super behind on blogging. I’ve spent the last couple of days with my family and enjoying time with them. This morning we woke up and opened presents, went to church and then came home and lounged around. It’s been an amazing Christmas to say the least. For today’s Christmas church look I went with this black bodycon midi layer dress. I picked up this dress on Thanksgiving and brought it out today. I didn’t realize it until today, but the slip is a little on the short side, so If I wear this dress again, I’d probably replace the slip that comes with the dress and go with a longer slip. Sadly I had packed this look and slept over at my parent’s house so I didn’t have a back up option.
We made it to the weekend! Can you believe that Christmas is a week away. This year has seriously flown by. I decided that since we’re a week out, I should probably start my Christmas shopping. I also have a bunch of errands and a lunch to attend so I went with this fun look. I am obsessed with this floral dress that I actually picked up in H&M when I was in Sacramento. I sadly couldn’t find this exact dress online, but I found some great alternates from ASOS online. I paired this dress with a dusty rose blazer to break up all of the black. I bought this dusty rose blazer probably three years ago. Sadly I couldn’t find it, but I’ve linked some great ones that are similar.
I normally don’t like running around in heels, especially when I’m on a mission shopping. These Jeffrey Campbell heels are ridiculously comfortable. I’ve worn them for days running around and never have any discomfort. The thick block heel and ankle strap really add so much comfort.
